Meet the Coaches

Coach Megan Scherrman

Head Varsity Coach

Coach Scherrman is a 2005 graduate of Beckman Catholic High School where she played varsity volleyball for 3 years.  In her time at Beckman she received honorable mention and second team all state honors.  Coach Scherrman began her coaching career in 2006.  She has since coached for Iowa City Regina, Beckman Catholic and now finds her home at Western Dubuque.  She coached Freshman volleyball at Western Dubuque before moving to Head Varsity Coach in 2014. Coach Scherrman received her B.A. in Elementary Education from Clarke University.  

Coach Rachael Rogers

Assistant Varsity Coach

Coach Rogers is a 2002 graduate of Wahlert Catholic High School.  She received her B.A. in Social Science Education from the University of Northern Iowa in 2006 where she played for the Panther softball team.  She joined the Western Dubuque School District in 2007.  Along with teaching, Rogers is the Assistant Varsity Volleyball coach and the Head Varsity Softball coach at Western Dubuque.  She also is the assistant softball coach at Loras College.  Coach Rogers began coaching volleyball for the Bobcats in 2007.  Coach Rogers was inducted into both the Iowa Girls Softball and Volleyball Hall of Fame.  In 2010 she was also inducted into the Wahlert Catholic Athletic Hall of Fame.  Rogers is currently getting her master’s degree in Leadership, Coaching and Athletic Administration.  

 

Coach Libby Kluesner

Sophomore Coach

My name is Libby Kluesner and I am the Head Sophomore Volleyball Coach at Western Dubuque High School. I have been coaching club volleyball for 6 years and started my high school coaching career in the fall of 2013 with Beckman High School. My first year coaching at Western Dubuque was the fall of 2014. I have played competitive volleyball since I was in 6th grade and continued my career at Western Dubuque. I graduated from Loras in 2013 where I played one year of volleyball and I started teaching Science at Western Dubuque High School in the fall of 2014. I am very excited  and motivated to continue to grow our program at Western Dubuque .

 

Coach Lynn Heitkamp

Freshman Coach

Coach Heitkamp graduated from Galena High School in 2008 where she played on the varsity volleyball team for 2 years.  She received her B.A. in English with a teaching certificate for grades 5-12 from Wartburg College in 2012.  Coach Heitkamp began coaching volleyball at Wapello High School where she served as their JV coach for the 2013 season.  In 2014, she accepted the position of 8th grade Literature & Language Arts at Drexler Middle School and began coaching freshman volleyball for Western Dubuque that same year.  Coach Heitkamp currently resides in Dubuque.

 

Coach Jenn Cartee

Freshman Coach

Coach Cartee is a 1988 graduate of Dike High School where she was a starter on three state championship teams, a member of two state all-tournament teams, and also the 1987 1A Volleyball Player of the Year.  She went on to play volleyball and basketball for Graceland College where her greatest achievement was Academic All-American her junior and senior years. She has coached high school volleyball for five years at the 9th Grade, Junior Varsity, and Varsity levels at Ackley-Geneva and Central DeWitt High Schools.  Coach Cartee joins the Western Dubuque Bobcats in 2015 as a 9th Grade Volleyball Coach, 8th Grade Language Arts Teacher, and 7th Grade Girls' Basketball Coach.  She resides in Peosta with her husband Kevin, daughter Jessica, and son Kale.
